Chapter 1937

Chapter1937

As the video played, Harold and Norma silently watched the entire incident unfold.

Harold’s face darkened with fury.

Norma stared at Faye in disbelief.

Once it ended, Harold shoved the phone into Georgie’s hands. “Take a good look yourself!”

Georgie snatched it up without delay, her eyes glued to the screen.

Faye leaned in as well, desperate to see exactly what had been captured.

When the scene from that night appeared clearly before her, all the color drained from her face.

How could this be?

Who was it? Who on earth had filmed this?

Damn it! Damn it all!

With this video, there was no way she could deny it anymore.

Watching her own movements caught so vividly on camera, she knew it was real. It wasn’t fabricated.

But Georgie shook her head furiously as she watched. Her voice was firm, and her denial sounded desperate. “No… no, this is impossible! It’s fake! This has to be fake!”

She turned sharply toward Lucas. “This video is definitely fabricated! Someone is trying to frame Faye! She would never do something like this!”

Lucas let out a low chuckle, his gaze sliding over to her with disdain. “Fabricated or not, why don’t you ask your precious daughter? Didn’t you notice her face has already gone pale as a sheet?”

At his words, Faye’s expression shifted again.

She tried to steady her features, but she couldn’t stop them from betraying her.

“I—” she began, her voice trembling.

But Lucas cut her off, saying, “Or are you about to claim the video is fake as well? Fine then. Why don’t we send it to an authentication center and see if there’s a trace of fabrication?”

Lucas’ words cut Faye short, choking off whatever excuse she had been about to make. The sound died in her throat.

The look on her face was enough—Harold and the others could no longer pretend ignorance. The truth was undeniable.

The video was real.

It was indeed Faye. She was the one who had shoved Belinda down the slope.

The realization drained all color from Harold’s face. Fixing a hard stare on Faye, he demanded in a low, commanding voice, “Tell me—why would you do such a thing? What could your aunt possibly have done to you that you’d be so vicious as to push her straight down a hill?”

Under the weight of his accusation, Faye’s body shuddered violently.

She swallowed hard, her voice stumbling as she tried to defend herself, saying, “I-I wasn’t thinking clearly! I just… I just felt that ever since Belinda arrived, Uncle Lucas… he hasn’t been treating me the same anymore. I was crushed! So when I saw Belinda standing there, I lost control. My mind snapped, and I did something I’ll never be able to forgive myself for—not in this lifetime.”

Her tear-streaked face turned toward Lucas and Belinda, desperate and pleading. “Uncle Lucas, I know how terribly wrong I was! Belinda, the moment I pushed you, I regretted it instantly. I’m so, so sorry…”
