Chapter 1859

Just after Lucas got into his car with Belinda, his phone rang.

He glanced at the screen—Vincent was calling.

He quickly answered the call.

“Hello.”

“Lucas, Johnson and I are heading to the Dream Club. Do you and Belinda want to join us?” Vincent asked.

Lucas turned to Belinda.

“Vincent’s wondering if we’d like to go to the Dream Club.”

Belinda thought for a moment before nodding.

“Sure, let’s go.”

Lucas spoke into the phone.

“Alright, we’ll be there shortly.”

“Great, let’s also invite Bethany.”

“Okay.”

Once the call ended, Lucas started the car toward the Dream Club while Belinda sent a message to Bethany.

By the time they arrived, Bethany was already waiting in the private room.

“It’s been far too long since we’ve gathered. Tonight, we should all drink. We can get designated drivers later,” Vincent said, raising his glass.

“Alright, cheers!”

Glasses clinked, and everyone downed their drinks in one go.

Setting her glass down, Bethany turned to Belinda.

“Belinda, what’s the matter? You look as though something’s weighing heavily on your mind.”

Bethany had known Belinda long enough to read even the smallest flicker in her expression.

After Bethany spoke, both Johnson and Vincent turned their attention to Belinda.

Belinda drew in a slow breath and released it with a faint sigh.

“Lately, a few things have surfaced. Lucas and I are almost certain now that I’m not Baker and Holley’s daughter.”

With everyone here being part of her inner circle, there was no need to hold anything back.

Johnson’s brows shot up, his tone tinged with shock.

“What happened? What made you suddenly question that?”

“It began…” Belinda started, then recounted everything—from the first moment her doubts arose to the unsettling discoveries that followed.

When she finished, Lucas picked up the thread.

“Earlier today, I found the nurse who left the hospital back then. She confessed she resigned because she realized the baby wasn’t the same. She was certain the child had been switched. But fear kept her from digging deeper or saying a word—she wanted no part in the mess. So she quit her job. Eventually, someone must have suspected her resignation was amiss. They tracked her down. Then they handed her half a million in exchange for her silence.”

Bethany’s lips parted in disbelief.
