Chapter 1905
Without hesitation, she dropped to her knees.
They struck the floor with a jarring thud.
Carola remained unmoved, staring down at her with icy indifference.
“Don’t worry,” she said coolly. “I won’t use the same poison you prepared for Belinda on Kylee. I’m not as vile as you.”
Holley let out a shaky breath, releasing a long sigh of relief.
But then Carola continued, “However, I’ve grown rather interested in hormones… and in that substance that can cause dark marks to form on a person’s face.”
Carola’s words carried an unmistakable weight, clearly revealing her intent.
Holley’s face drained of color in an instant.
Did Carola truly mean to inject her daughter with hormones and leave an indelible scar on her face? No. She couldn’t allow that to happen.
Holley shook her head violently, desperation surging as she pleaded, “Please, Carola. Don’t do this to my daughter. I’m begging you.”
Carola remained unmoved by her cries. “From the moment you hurt my child, you should have known this day would eventually come.”
Holley fell silent, her jaw clenched so tightly it ached. She glared at Carola with a mixture of rage and resentment. Gripping a chair for support, she forced herself upright before sinking back into her seat.
Her eyes locked onto Carola as she lashed out, “What did I ever do wrong? You were the one who hurt me first. Baker and I were on the verge of marriage. Then you appeared out of nowhere, wanted to marry him, and snatched him away from me. With the power of the Happer family behind you, Baker had no choice but to marry you. Everything that should have been mine was taken in the blink of an eye, including my place by his side. I, his true girlfriend, was reduced to nothing but a disgraceful mistress.”
Holley’s voice rose sharply, almost shrill. “This is all because of you, Carola. Every bit of it is your fault. How could I not hate you? You stole the only man I ever loved. So yes, I retaliated by taking the one you loved. I only did to you what you did to me. Tell me, how is that wrong?”

Carola let out a humorless laugh at Holley’s accusations.
“When I first met Baker, I asked him if he had a girlfriend. He told me he didn’t. That was why I chose him. Do you honestly believe that without the backing of the Happer family, he could have built the Wright Group? Do you truly think the Wright Group would have grown into such a powerful company without my family’s support? The comfortable life you and Baker enjoy today exists only because of me. And yet, instead of holding that faithless man accountable, you pour all your hatred onto me, as if I weren’t just as much a victim as you. You’re utterly ridiculous.”
Holley bit her lip hard after hearing Carola’s cutting words.
Deep down, she knew Carola was speaking the truth.
But she simply couldn’t accept it.
Every thought of being replaced, of watching her husband claimed by another woman, burned like fire inside her.
How could she not hate Carola?
Holley drew in a sharp breath before spitting back, “This is your fault. You dangled irresistible conditions in front of Baker—of course he was tempted. If you hadn’t gone after him, if you hadn’t lured him in, none of this would have happened.”
Carola found Holley’s argument absurd, unreasonable to the point of irony.
There was no longer any point in wasting words on her.
Carola rose to her feet and looked down at Holley. “You can stay here for the rest of your life. I promise you, your life in this place will be full of surprises.”
With that, she turned and walked away.
The moment she stepped out of the prison gates, she pulled out her phone and made a call.
