Chapter 1801

Belinda turned to Lucas. “The footage doesn’t show anything suspicious. Jarrett’s anger when he saw Sarai, and Sarai’s fear and tension as he approached her—none of it looked rehearsed. From what I can tell, the incident didn’t seem staged unless they are both trained actors.”

Lucas nodded, agreeing with her. “You’re right. Their reactions seemed completely authentic. Let’s look at another segment of the footage. This one has tracked Sarai’s movements from the moment she entered the area.”

With a click of the mouse, Lucas started playing the new footage.

The video showed Sarai speaking with the security guard for a long while before he allowed her entry.

Once inside, she walked toward Belinda’s place but stopped at a distance, keeping the house in view without approaching. She stood there, quietly watching.

Soon, Kenia and Margie stepped outside.

The moment Sarai spotted them, she ducked out of sight, as if desperate to avoid being seen.

After they walked away, Sarai cautiously reappeared.

Her gaze followed their retreating figures, filled with a palpable sense of yearning, her eyes soon brimming with tears. She then trailed them discreetly until the confrontation with Jarrett unfolded, prompting her to intervene.

From the instant Sarai saw Kenia, her emotions appeared entirely genuine, not fabricated.

On the surface, the footage revealed nothing out of place.

Yet, despite this, Belinda’s deep-seated distrust of Sarai lingered. Even though the video showed nothing odd, something still felt off.

The crux of her unease boiled down to one question—could this all be just a coincidence?

Sarai just happened to show up, and on the very same day, Jarrett decided to commit a robbery, bringing them together in such a dramatic encounter…

Elwood didn’t hesitate. “Then you tell me—what’s the truth? Did you approach Verena, dig up dirt on her, and pitch a plan to target Belinda? And after you were… assaulted, did you assume Belinda was behind it and pay someone with HIV to try to hurt her? Is there anything incorrect about what I said?”

Kylee froze, momentarily speechless, unable to counter his words.

After a long silence, she took a shaky breath. “You have to understand, I’m the one who’s been wronged! It’s them—Verena, Belinda, Lucas—they’re the ones who hurt me!”

With that, she buried her face in her hands, sobbing loudly, her cries filled with anguish and despair.

As her father, Elwood felt his heart ache for her suffering.
