Chapter 1832

Neither Carola nor Kylee moved to take the document. Instead, Baker picked up the paternity test report and flipped to the last page.

His heart, which had been suspended in agonizing uncertainty, finally found peace when his eyes landed on the results.

He then extended the report toward Kylee calmly.

Baker’s reaction had already revealed the outcome to Kylee.

She accepted the document with composure and took a look.

Once she saw the results, a wave of joy washed over her, though she maintained her external composure with practiced precision.

She lifted her gaze to meet Tamara’s and spoke in a steady voice.

“So, does this confirm that I am Elwood’s biological daughter now?”

Kylee’s voice brimmed with a certain smugness as she spoke. But Tamara responded with an almost amused chuckle, saying,

“That’s not necessarily true.”

Kylee was caught off guard by her words, surprise evident in her eyes as she looked at Tamara.

What did Tamara mean by that? What game was she playing now?

“I’m naturally cautious,” Tamara said coolly, sliding two more envelopes onto the coffee table with deliberate calm.

“So when I had the test done, I didn’t settle for just one facility. I sent samples to three different labs. Would you care to guess what these other two results say?”

Both Kylee and Baker stiffened for a moment, their expressions shifting. Three testing labs! They had only manipulated the result from one lab.

Baker had slipped a bribe to a technician and thought that was the end of it.

As for the other two… Baker and Kylee didn’t need to open those envelopes to know the results of the paternity tests.

In the blink of an eye, Kylee had already devised a plan. She forced a tentative frown and reached for the envelopes, her fingers steady.

She flipped open the first report, then the second, and her composure crumbled as she saw the results.

gσv.c?m – check it out!

Eyes wide with disbelief, she looked from Tamara to Elwood, raising the pages with shaking hands.

“How… how could this be possible?”

Tamara leaned back with a scoff, like she’d just heard the most absurd joke.

“You’re asking us?” Her brows arched coolly.

“Shouldn’t we ask you that question?”

At that moment, Carola finally broke her silence. Her brows knitted together as she turned a suspicious glance toward her daughter.

“What’s going on?”

Kylee spun toward her in a flash. She shoved the reports into Carola’s hands.

“Mom, look! Look at this. Why do the other two labs say I’m not related to Elwood at all?”

“What?” Carola’s breath caught in her throat.
