Chapter 1794
The robber seized the valuables with greedy fingers, but his attention quickly shifted to the pearl necklace that graced Kenia’s neck. “That piece as well—move quickly!”
Kenia’s fingertips found the familiar weight of the necklace. “This particular necklace carries little monetary value,” she said.
Her words held complete truth—the necklace possessed no significant worth in the marketplace. It was a gift from Belinda’s first earnings many years ago for Kenia’s birthday. Though it lacked financial value, the piece held immeasurable significance for Kenia, which explained why she had chosen to wear it faithfully through all these passing years.
The man’s lips curved into a sneer. “Do you take me for a fool? Anyone residing in this neighborhood wouldn’t wear anything cheap,” he said, flourishing the knife as he stepped closer. “Move faster! Will you remove it yourself, or shall I take care of it?”
At that precise moment, a clear female voice sliced through the tension. “Stop this immediately! I’ve already called the police!”
Everyone’s heads turned in unison. A woman stood at a junction three meters away, clothed in a pristine white blouse paired with a black skirt. Her phone remained raised like a beacon of hope, and though her face had paled with fear, her gaze burned with unwavering determination.
Both Kenia and Margie felt shock ripple through their features as recognition dawned. The woman was someone they hadn’t seen in a long time—Sarai.
The robber’s face twisted into a mask of pure fury as he pivoted the knife toward Sarai. “You bitch! Do you have a death wish?”
Fear coursed through Sarai’s body, causing visible tremors to run along her frame, yet her feet appeared anchored to the ground. “The police will arrive at any moment. You won’t get away with this!”
Rage consumed the robber completely, and he launched himself toward Sarai. Sarai reflexively stepped backward, but her foot caught on a protruding tree root that sent her crashing to the ground with tremendous force, her phone spinning away across the concrete.

The robber loomed above her fallen form, his knife angled downward in a threatening position.
“You meddling bitch!” he roared, lifting the weapon high above his head in preparation for a devastating strike.
“Sarai!” Kenia, in a panic, instinctively moved to rush toward her.
Margie’s reflexes kicked in without hesitation as she lunged forward, her fingers wrapping around Kenia’s arm with desperate strength to stop her. “Kenia, you should leave!” Terror consumed her thoughts as she dismissed any concern for Sarai’s well-being—her singular focus centered on protecting Kenia from harm.
Given Kenia’s fragile condition at such an advanced age, even the smallest injury could prove fatal. This grim reality propelled Margie into action as she yanked Kenia backward, her voice piercing the evening air. “Help us! Someone please help! We’re being robbed!”
At that crucial moment, Sarai, summoning courage from somewhere deep within, suddenly scooped up a handful of dirt from the nearby flowerbed and flung it straight toward the robber’s face.
“Damn it!” The robber’s agonized howl echoed as temporary blindness consumed him. He rubbed his eyes in a rage and blindly thrust the knife in Sarai’s direction. Sarai’s face turned pale at that. She struggled to get up, but it was too late to dodge the attack.
