Chapter 1935
Chapter1935
At that terrifying thought, Faye’s breath quickened, and the blood drained from her face. But this was only her speculation.
After a moment’s silence, Faye composed herself. “Mom, I’m not lying to you. I’ve been good lately; I really haven’t done anything wrong. But I do feel Uncle Lucas has been forming some bad opinions about me, though I honestly don’t understand why. Still… since he called you, you should go. Once you’re there, just hear what he has to say.”
Georgie’s nerves slowly settled after she heard that. She drew in a long breath. “Alright, I see.”
After hanging up, Faye leaned back in her chair, her thoughts still restless and tangled.
But since things had already come to this, she decided she could just wait and see where they would go.
After all, she hadn’t done anything wrong—except for that one incident.
Even so, she clung to the belief that the truth about that would remain buried forever.
Besides, Lucas was family. With her mother and grandparents standing by her side, she couldn’t bring herself to believe he would do anything to her.
With that thought, her frayed nerves finally began to settle.
That evening, after finishing work, Lucas drove to the Grand Plains General Hospital to pick up Belinda, and together, they returned to the Clark family estate.
When Lucas and Belinda arrived, everyone was already gathered in the living room—Harold, Norma, Georgie, and Faye.
The moment they walked in, Harold asked, “Lucas, what’s going on? Why did you suddenly summon Georgie back from Soling?”
Lucas gently clasped Belinda’s hand and guided her across the room to the sofa opposite the others.
After sitting down with Belinda, he didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he turned toward Hooper and instructed, “Hooper, have the servants step outside.”
“Yes, sir,” Hooper responded at once, ushering every servant out of the main house.

Only then did Lucas speak. His voice was calm but carried a weight that made everyone sit straighter. “Georgie, the reason I called you back today is that there’s something important I need to reveal… something all of you should know.”
His eyes swept slowly from Georgie, to Harold, then to the others.
“What is it?” Georgie pressed.
Lucas lowered his voice, steady but heavy. “Before, a group of us went together to Mount Tuky. That night, Faye slipped away into the woods behind the mountain. All of us—along with Tuky Mountain’s security—went there searching for her. And during that time… Belinda was shoved down the slope.”
“Oh my God!”
“How could this happen? Belinda, are you alright?”
Harold and Norma exclaimed in alarm, both turning toward Belinda with faces etched in concern.
At that moment, Faye’s expression shifted sharply.
Mount Tuky?
Why would Lucas bring up that incident now?
