Chapter 1925

Chapter1925

Carola gave a small nod. “Yes, but all I saw was your back. I didn’t see your face.”

Elwood’s voice deepened, heavy with certainty. “That’s it! The figure you saw that day might very well be the same one you later witnessed embracing Tasha!”

“Yeah, it could be,” Carola replied.

Elwood quickly said, “I’ll have someone investigate this immediately and dig into Tasha. If I uncover anything, you’ll be the first to know.”

“Alright,” Carola replied softly.

At that moment, Elwood gripped her shoulders, his gaze unwavering, his tone steady and solemn. “Carola, even though I’ve lost my memories and can’t recall the past, I need you to believe me—I would never betray you.”

Confronted with his words, Carola found herself at a loss for how to respond.

A pang of guilt twisted within her.

Back then, upon hearing those harsh words and witnessing that scene, she hadn’t paused to think; she had already condemned him in her heart, convinced that he had failed her and betrayed her.

She had never once stopped to wonder whether there might have been a mistake or even the faintest possibility of a misunderstanding.

She hadn’t even had the courage to push open the door and confront what she thought she had seen!

Elwood caught the storm of emotions flickering across Carola’s face and sighed inwardly.

Still, he knew now was not the time to drown in old wounds. The pressing matter was to complete the paternity test with Belinda and have someone investigate Tasha immediately.

Inside the CEO’s office at Triumph Consortium, the phone on Lucas’ desk rang sharply. It was a call from the executive secretary’s office.

“Mr. Clark, the receptionist just phoned to say someone downstairs is demanding to see you. He insists it’s urgent; he has something to tell you about your wife.”

Lucas’ brows knitted instantly at the words.

? ν?

Something concerning Belinda?

“Take him to the reception room,” Lucas ordered after a brief pause.

No matter who the man was or what message he carried about Belinda, if it concerned Belinda in any way, Lucas had to meet him.

“Understood,” the secretary replied at once.

Ten minutes later, Lucas strode into the reception room.

The visitor was already waiting inside.

To Lucas, the face before him was entirely unfamiliar.

The instant Lucas entered, the man stood up from the sofa and walked forward with brisk steps, introducing himself, “Good day, Mr. Clark. My name is Lennon Hobbes, the CEO of the Hyacinth Group.”

Lucas gave him a quick, assessing glance, nodded, and sat down on the sofa. “Have a seat,” he said.

“Of course,” Lennon responded quickly and lowered himself onto the sofa.

Lucas’ gaze lifted, his lips parting slightly. “What information about Belinda do you want to tell me?”

He had never heard of Lennon nor the so-called Hyacinth Group before.
