Chapter 1833
She snatched the reports and flipped through them, skimming the lines with trembling hands. And then, she froze.
Both reports clearly stated the same thing—Kylee was not Elwood’s daughter.
How could this even be possible?
How could her daughter have no blood relation with Elwood? She knew who the father of her child was. It should be Elwood.
But…
The paternity test results were unmistakably clear.
Carola clutched the pages as though trying to squeeze truth out of them.
“No,” she murmured, shaking her head violently.
“No, this is wrong. There has to be a mistake!”
Tamara scoffed, her arms folding as she threw Carola a scornful glance.
“Really? Then tell me—why does only one center say Kylee and Elwood are related, while the other two clearly say otherwise?”
Carola’s head jerked up, her eyes locking onto Tamara’s.
“What exactly are you implying?”
“What am I implying? You should ask your husband about that.” Tamara’s voice was sharp as she turned her piercing gaze toward Baker, who had been sitting silently on the sidelines.
“Baker, don’t you have something to say?”
Baker’s face instantly morphed into a mask of confusion and innocence.
“I have no idea what’s going on here,” he said. Deep down, he knew he had no choice but to push the blame onto Carola.
This wasn’t how he had expected things to turn out.
He hadn’t foreseen that Tamara would go to the lengths of using three separate testing facilities to verify the truth.
Tamara’s lips curled into a scornful smirk as she tossed another document onto the table with a deliberate flick of her wrist.
Carola snatched it up, her eyes scanning the pages quickly.

Tamara’s voice cut through the tension like a blade.
“The investigation uncovered that you, Baker, shelled out half a million dollars to bribe an employee at Kovacs Testing Center to falsify the paternity test results. But now, you’re claiming you’re clueless?”
As her accusation echoed in the room, Baker’s expression shifted, his composure crumbling.
The results from the testing center had only just been released, yet Tamara was already aware of his bribe.
It dawned on him that Tamara had planned this in advance—she had ordered new paternity tests to see if he would try to tamper with them.
A chill ran down Baker’s spine, beads of sweat forming on his brow.
By now, Carola had finished reviewing the document. She snapped her head up, her gaze locking onto Baker, her voice cold as ice.
“Baker, explain this!”
Baker stammered, the situation spiraling far beyond his control, leaving him scrambling for words to defend himself.
